Niteshift, a startup focused on developing cloud infrastructure tailored for artificial intelligence coding agents, has successfully secured $7 million in seed funding. The round was spearheaded by prominent venture capital firm Greylock, with significant contributions from Amplify Partners, BoxGroup, and SV Angel. This infusion of capital will accelerate the development and deployment of Niteshift's platform, designed to streamline the operationalization of AI in software development workflows.

The company also announced the public release of its platform, transitioning from an earlier invite-only phase. Beyond institutional backing, Niteshift has garnered support from a notable roster of tech luminaries and industry leaders. These include Reid Hoffman, Datadog executives Olivier Pomel and Alexis Le-Quoc, Braintrust founder Ankur Goyal, and Reflection AI co-founder Misha Laskin. Additionally, current and former executives from major tech players like Anthropic, Google Cloud, and Slack have invested, underscoring the perceived value of Niteshift's mission.

Founded by former Datadog engineering leaders Sajid Mehmood and Conor Branagan, Niteshift addresses a critical gap in the rapidly evolving AI coding agent market. Their platform offers a comprehensive cloud environment that supports AI agents, such as Claude Code and Codex, by providing pre-configured development setups. These environments encompass necessary runtimes, integrated services, authentication protocols, testing frameworks, and verification pipelines, enabling agents to function effectively in production-like settings.

Niteshift's solution empowers engineering teams to run numerous AI agent sessions concurrently without the burden of managing local hardware resources. Integration with popular developer tools like Slack, Linear, and GitHub allows for seamless initiation of agent tasks. This facilitates collaboration among engineers, product managers, and designers, abstracting away the complexities of individual development environment setup.
