Aria Networks Raises $125M for AI Data Center Networking

Aria Networks Inc. has successfully closed a substantial $125 million funding round, signaling strong investor confidence in its advanced data center networking solutions tailored for artificial intelligence workloads. The significant capital infusion was led by prominent venture firms including Sutter Hill Ventures, Atreides Management, Valor Equity Partners, and Eclipse Ventures. This funding coincides with the company's official product portfolio unveiling, marking a pivotal moment for the startup.

The newly launched product suite, branded as 'Deep Networking,' encompasses a comprehensive array of hardware and software designed to build high-performance data center networks. At its core are cutting-edge switches engineered to support the demanding throughput requirements of AI clusters. These switches leverage the latest iterations of the widely adopted Ethernet protocol, specifically the 800G and 1.6T standards. The 1.6T technology, for instance, is capable of processing an impressive 1.6 terabits per second per port, a critical advancement for accelerating AI computations.

A key differentiator in Aria's offering lies in its sophisticated SerDes technology, which is instrumental in consolidating data streams for transmission. The 1.6T Ethernet's enhanced speed is directly attributable to its SerDes's doubled throughput compared to the 800G version. The company is offering a 64-port 1.6T switch, available in both air-cooled and liquid-cooled configurations. These switches feature robust packet buffering capabilities to manage traffic congestion efficiently, preventing data loss and maintaining optimal network performance.

Beyond the 1.6T offerings, Aria also provides 800G Ethernet switches, including 64-port and 128-port models. These devices can handle aggregate traffic capacities of up to 51.2 terabits per second and 102.4 terabits per second, respectively, catering to a wide spectrum of data center needs. Powering these advanced switches is a customized version of SONiC, an open-source network operating system. This choice ensures flexibility and allows for modular updates without disrupting network operations, a crucial feature for mission-critical AI infrastructure.

Further enhancing its value proposition, Aria's software stack integrates a powerful telemetry engine. This engine captures highly granular hardware data, reportedly up to 10,000 times more detailed than conventional tools. This rich data stream is utilized by AI agents to automate network optimization tasks such as load balancing and congestion management. The system also proactively identifies potential issues, alerting human administrators who can then investigate using an intuitive natural language interface.

With existing customer orders already secured, Aria Networks is actively deploying its technology to early adopters.
