Director - Corporate Venture Capital (Japan/Asia Focus)

Voy Ventures seeks a Director for its Corporate Venture Capital team, focusing on investment opportunities across Japan and Asia. This is a critical role for an investment professional looking to drive strategic innovation and financial returns by identifying and executing venture investments in a high-growth region.

Voy Ventures operates as a Corporate Venture Capital firm, strategically investing in early to growth-stage companies that align with the long-term vision of its parent organization. The Director will be instrumental in building and managing a robust investment pipeline, primarily targeting the Japanese and broader Asian technology ecosystems. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the firm's regional investment strategy and contribute directly to its growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Investment Sourcing & Execution:* Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of new venture investments within Japan and Asia. This includes proactive deal sourcing, market mapping, and building relationships with entrepreneurs, venture capital firms, and corporate partners in the region.

Due Diligence:* Conduct comprehensive financial, commercial, and technical due diligence on prospective investment targets, collaborating with internal and external experts to assess market potential, technology readiness, and team capabilities.

Strategic Alignment:* Ensure all investment activities are aligned with Voy Ventures' strategic objectives and contribute to the parent company’s innovation agenda, identifying companies that offer both financial upside and strategic relevance.

Portfolio Management:* Actively manage existing portfolio companies, providing strategic guidance, monitoring performance, and identifying opportunities for value creation and potential follow-on investments.

Market Analysis:* Monitor technology trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory developments across Japan and Asia to inform investment theses and identify emerging opportunities.

Stakeholder Engagement:* Represent Voy Ventures in the regional venture ecosystem, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders and enhancing the firm's presence and reputation.

Reporting:* Prepare detailed investment memoranda, present recommendations to the investment committee, and provide regular updates on pipeline and portfolio performance.

Candidates should possess significant experience in venture capital, corporate development, or a related investment role, with a demonstrated track record of successful investments in the technology sector, particularly within Japan or other Asian markets.
