About This Role

Launch Tennessee (LaunchTN), a public-private partnership serving as Tennessee's entrepreneurial ecosystem organization, is hiring a Capital Analyst to support its InvestTN Fund and investment activities.

The Capital Analyst will conduct due diligence on early-stage startup companies applying for funding through the InvestTN program, a state-backed initiative to support Tennessee-based entrepreneurs. The role involves drafting 2-3 investment memoranda per month, summarizing company financials, market opportunity, team background, and investment risks for review by the investment committee.

Key responsibilities include managing the applicant pipeline and communications with founders throughout the review process, maintaining accurate records in the CRM system, attending startup events and demo days to identify promising companies, and serving as an ambassador for the LaunchTN ecosystem across Tennessee.

The role also involves tracking portfolio company performance and supporting follow-on investment decisions. The Capital Analyst will work closely with program partners, economic development agencies, and co-investors to build a collaborative investment network across the state.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of experience in investment analysis, financial modeling, startup operations, or economic development. Familiarity with the Tennessee startup ecosystem is a plus. Strong written communication skills are essential given the memo-writing focus of the role. The position is based in Nashville and may involve travel throughout Tennessee for ecosystem events and site visits.

This is an opportunity to contribute to public-private venture development and help build the next generation of Tennessee-based companies. LaunchTN works with programs including the TNECD, Tennessee Technology Development Corporation, and AllianceBernstein to support capital access for founders across the state.
