Investment Director

Role Overview

IXSAR Capital, a San Francisco-based venture capital firm focused on space-tech, autonomy, and robotics, is hiring an Investment Director. This full-time, on-site role sits on the investment team, sourcing and leading deals from pre-seed through Series A alongside the firm's technical-founder-focused portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

- Source and evaluate early-stage investment opportunities in space-tech, autonomy, and robotics

- Conduct rigorous market and financial analysis on prospective deals

- Lead investment processes end-to-end, from initial screening through term sheet negotiation and closing

- Work closely with founders to support portfolio companies on strategy, fundraising, and scaling

- Collaborate with internal partners to refine investment theses and build sector insights

- Manage deal pipelines and perform due diligence

- Prepare investment memos and presentations

- Represent the firm at industry events

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in investment management, including experience leading deals and managing an early-stage portfolio

- Advanced analytical and finance skills, with demonstrated ability in financial modeling, valuation, and risk assessment

- Expertise developing and implementing venture capital investment strategies, particularly in deep-tech sectors

- Relevant experience in venture capital, private equity, or technology-focused investing, ideally in space-tech, autonomy, or robotics

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus

- Ability to build trusted relationships with technical founders and co-investors

- Comfort with on-site work in San Francisco, CA, including meetings, conferences, and site visits
