This role is central to identifying and cultivating the next generation of innovative companies, contributing directly to the firm's investment strategy and the success of its early-stage portfolio. As a Venture Capital firm, FLEX Capital is dedicated to partnering with visionary founders at the earliest stages of their development, providing capital and strategic support to help transform nascent ideas into market-defining enterprises.

The Principal will play a critical role across the entire investment lifecycle, from initial deal origination to portfolio company support. This position demands a rigorous analytical approach, a strong understanding of early-stage business models, and the ability to build effective relationships within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Deal Sourcing and Identification:* Proactively identify and cultivate investment opportunities within the seed-stage ecosystem. This involves building and maintaining a robust network of founders, accelerators, incubators, and industry contacts to originate high-potential companies aligned with FLEX Capital's investment thesis.

Investment Due Diligence:* Lead comprehensive evaluation processes for prospective investments. This includes conducting thorough market analysis, assessing competitive landscapes, evaluating technology and product viability, validating business models, and performing detailed team assessments. Synthesize findings into clear, data-driven investment recommendations for the investment committee.

Transaction Execution:* Structure and negotiate investment terms, managing the legal and financial aspects of finalizing new investments. This involves drafting term sheets, coordinating with legal counsel, and ensuring efficient closing processes.

Portfolio Company Engagement:* Collaborate closely with portfolio company management teams, offering strategic advice, operational guidance, and facilitating access to relevant networks, talent, and resources. Support companies through their growth phases, including follow-on fundraising efforts.

Market Intelligence and Thesis Development:* Maintain a deep understanding of relevant technology trends, market shifts, and competitive dynamics within the seed-stage venture capital landscape. Contribute to the refinement of FLEX Capital's investment theses and strategies.

Fund Contribution:* Actively participate in internal investment committee discussions, contribute to overall fund strategy, and represent FLEX Capital externally at industry events and within the venture community.

This role is based in San Francisco, United States.
