MD, EMEA Senior Sector Lead

Apollo Global Management is seeking a Managing Director to lead a Sector Coverage Team within its European Corporate Credit group in London. This senior role sits at the intersection of private credit origination, hybrid investment, and portfolio oversight across leveraged loan and high-yield bond issuers in Europe.

The Managing Director will drive all corporate origination within an assigned sector, sourcing and executing new private credit and hybrid opportunities across Apollo's pools of capital — including investment grade and sub-investment grade credit, preferred and structured equity, and private equity. Candidates must bring an established network of financial sponsors, investment banks, and corporate borrowers, along with a proven ability to structure complex transactions.

Key responsibilities include leading the firm's European sector expertise, providing investment committee presentations with detailed credit underwriting, financial modeling, risk assessment, and return projections. The MD will also oversee the ongoing risk management of existing leveraged loan and high-yield bond positions, actively monitoring creditworthiness and recommending buy/sell/hold actions. A team of 3 to 5 credit analysts will report directly to this role, requiring mentorship and leadership in credit analysis and investment recommendations.

Qualifications required include a minimum of 12 years of experience in sell-side or buy-side firms focused on credit, leveraged finance, or high-yield investing, with a deep understanding of credit underwriting and financial modeling. Strong leadership skills and an established industry network across private credit, advisors, sponsors, and company management teams are essential. The ability to monitor macroeconomic trends and capital market conditions that impact credit performance is also expected.
