Director, Private Equity Performance Improvement - Commercial Excellence

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is seeking a Director for its Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice in Germany, focusing on Commercial Excellence. A&M is a global consulting firm with entrepreneurial, action-oriented professionals known for a hands-on approach to solving complex business challenges.

The PEPI team in Germany is looking for a Director with a strong track record in sales force effectiveness, margin management, sales back-office effectiveness, marketing optimisation, and interim sales leadership. The ideal candidate is capable of managing and addressing complex business challenges within Commercial Excellence in the context of the private equity lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include leading and advising companies on Revenue and Margin Management, developing transparency into market trends, competitive dynamics, growth opportunities, and customer and end-user behaviour, reviewing usage of advanced tools including CRM to drive accountability and sales pipeline visibility, contributing to project work by combining creative problem solving with analytical rigour, and motivating, developing, and challenging project team members to exceed client expectations.

Candidates must have a hands-on, non-hierarchical leadership style, extensive track record managing fast-paced projects, deep understanding of the private equity lifecycle and relevant networks, strong financial acumen, and proficiency building quarterly and annual business plans. Experience in Germany's mid-market private equity ecosystem is highly valued.
