NYC DOT Willets Point Facility Modernization Project

The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) is undertaking a significant infrastructure modernization at its Willets Point, Queens maintenance depot. This ambitious $121 million initiative aims to replace outdated facilities, some dating back to 1934, with state-of-the-art structures designed to meet contemporary operational, safety, and environmental resilience demands. The project targets enhanced efficiency for the city's roadway repair and fleet services.

At the heart of this redevelopment is the construction of a new 72,820-square-foot, five-story administrative and personnel building. This modern hub will house updated office spaces and crucial warehouse facilities. Complementing this is a 1,849-square-foot, two-story structure dedicated to vehicle washing and maintenance, alongside other essential service areas. The entire project replaces the existing 160,000-square-foot yard, signaling a substantial upgrade in capacity and functionality.
