Minitap, a France-anchored AI-powered platform for mobile development, has closed a $4.1M seed round. The financing is co-led by Moxxie Ventures and Mercuri, with participation from EWOR, and Amigos Venture Capital, alongside a cohort of unicorn-founder backers. The round underscores a growing appetite for AI-enabled tooling that accelerates mobile product cycles.

Two 23-year-old founders—Nico Dehandschoewercker and Luc Mahoux-Nakamura—have surpassed key benchmarks by delivering a platform designed to remove traditional bottlenecks in mobile engineering. Minitap claims its approach enables teams to run more experiments, deploy tests, and ship features at a pace that closes the gap with web development. The company’s narrative is bolstered by a benchmark win on AndroidWorld, where it secured the top position in AI-controlled mobile device testing within 40 days, outpacing teams from major research labs.

The open-source element, described as "mobile-use", enables AI agents to interact with phones as a human would, while minitap cloud spins up thousands of device configurations across iOS and Android for parallel testing. The combined stack lets AI write, test, and iterate mobile code with automated bug fixing, reducing cycles from weeks to days and expanding the scope of what can be validated before release.

Investors and unicorn-founders joining the round include the ecosystem’s influential players and operators from leading AI and mobility spaces. The lineup features backers such as Hugging Face founders among the unicorn cohort, along with individuals from SumUp, Last.fm, and FlixBus, aligning strategic know-how with capital to accelerate go-to-market and platform development.

Looking ahead, Minitap plans to deploy the funding to broaden its device-lab scale, deepen integrations with AI coding environments, and accelerate platform enhancements that empower product managers to define features and have AI generate working code and validated experiments in shorter cycles.
