Mara's flagship system, Spike, is engineered to address this evolving threat. It comprises two integrated modules: the 'Spotter' targeting system and the 'Seeker' kinetic interceptor. The Spotter leverages a fusion of visual, acoustic, and optional radar sensors, powered by proprietary artificial intelligence, to ensure robust detection across diverse conditions, including day, night, and adverse weather. Complementing this is the Seeker, a compact 250-gram interceptor capable of speeds up to 200 kilometers per hour, launched from a deployable tube.

“The battlefield has been fundamentally altered by the democratization of precision strike capabilities through small drones,” stated Daniel Kofman, co-founder and CEO of Mara. “Traditional systems often concentrate both the cost and the defensive engagement zone. Spike redefines this by establishing a distributed network of affordable nodes, each equipped for simultaneous targeting and engagement from multiple vectors. This architecture provides comprehensive hemispheric coverage and enables autonomous command relay from Spotter to Seeker, operating under human-defined rules of engagement.”

Mara has actively engaged in rigorous testing and validation, including recent field exercises with the US Army. The Seeker interceptor demonstrated its efficacy in maneuvers during a Texas-based exercise, while the Spotter system operated autonomously on an armored vehicle during a European Army exercise. Furthermore, Ukrainian forces have successfully utilized the Spotter system to track multiple FPV drones from a position 40 kilometers from the front lines, underscoring the system's real-world applicability.

Nicole Fraenkel, Partner at Khosla Ventures, highlighted the company's rapid progress: “Mara has impressively transitioned from initial concept validation to user-level testing for an autonomous defense solution.
