Hexa Names Cowboy Co-Founder Tanguy Goretti as First CTO

Hexa, a prominent startup studio, has appointed Tanguy Goretti, a co-founder of the electric bike manufacturer Cowboy, as its inaugural Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This strategic hire signals Hexa's commitment to bolstering its technical leadership and product development capabilities as it supports a new wave of entrepreneurs.

Goretti brings nearly a decade of hands-on experience from his tenure at Cowboy, a company that navigated significant production and service challenges before its acquisition by the French group Rebirth (formerly Easybike) last year. His deep understanding of building and scaling hardware and software products from the ground up is expected to be invaluable to the founders within the Hexa ecosystem.

His appointment follows a series of high-profile additions to Hexa, including former Selency co-founder Maxime Brousse, who is leading an acceleration program focused on climate tech, and ex-Luko co-founder Raphaël Vullierme, tasked with developing AI-centric startups. Goretti's role will focus on empowering founders to rapidly bring their product visions to market, leveraging his technical and product DNA.

Goretti's arrival at Hexa is particularly timely given the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence on product development. He views AI as a fundamental shift, drastically shortening the gap between an initial concept and a tangible product. "AI reduces to nothing the distance between an idea and a product," Goretti stated, emphasizing his desire to be actively involved in this paradigm shift rather than merely observing it. This perspective aligns with Hexa's recent expansion, including the opening of a San Francisco hub in January to immerse its entrepreneurs in the AI innovation scene.

Matthiew Gombeaud, who has led Hexa since last summer, highlighted Goretti's suitability for the role. "Tanguy perfectly matches the profile we sought: a founder who has built something challenging, who codes, and who understands that AI is not a fleeting trend but a fundamental change in what's possible to create," Gombeaud remarked. Goretti's background, including his early involvement with Cowboy as an early investor, Thibaud Elzière, further solidifies the connection.

Beyond his direct technical support for founders, Goretti aims to cultivate a broader network for Hexa, fostering connections with leading research institutions. He also plans to guide entrepreneurs through critical investment decisions. Goretti advocates for a CTPO (Chief Technology Product Officer) approach, merging technical vision with product strategy, a concept he believes will define future industry leaders. This integrated approach is set to shape the development of AI-driven products emerging from the Hexa studio.
