GATE Space Lands €6.3M EU Funding for Space Tech

Vienna-based GATE Space has successfully secured a significant funding package totaling €6.3 million from the European Commission. This substantial backing, channeled through the highly competitive EIC Accelerator program, underscores the continent's commitment to fostering cutting-edge deep technology ventures. The award is a hybrid of research and development grants and a direct equity investment facilitated by the European Investment Bank (EIB), positioning GATE Space among Europe's elite technology innovators.

The selection process for the EIC Accelerator is notoriously rigorous, with only approximately six percent of applicants typically receiving funding in recent rounds. GATE Space's achievement is particularly noteworthy as it stands as the sole Austrian company, and the only entity from the aerospace and defense sectors, to be chosen by the commission's expert panel in this funding cycle.
