Covenant Raises $250M for Advanced Strike Weapon Systems

Defense technology innovator Covenant has officially emerged from its development phase, announcing a substantial $250 million in funding secured across multiple investment rounds. This capital infusion is set to accelerate the production and deployment of its flagship Anthem long-range precision strike weapon system. The significant backing was led by prominent venture capital firms including Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, Lux, 8VC, Aleph, and Lightspeed, signaling strong market confidence in Covenant's strategic vision and technological capabilities.

The Anthem system is engineered as a heavy-payload, long-range strike solution designed for high-volume manufacturing, offering a more cost-effective alternative to existing legacy systems. The company has been rigorously testing the platform, with over 200 flights completed since its initial test in August 2025, including multiple engagements with the U.S. Army both domestically and internationally. Covenant emphasizes Anthem's end-to-end design, integrating proprietary mission planning and command-and-control software to provide a comprehensive operational capability.

A key differentiator for Covenant is its focus on manufacturability and supply chain resilience. The Anthem system largely utilizes commercially available components, supplemented by long-term supply agreements and a strategy to leverage supply chains within allied nations. This approach is crucial in the current geopolitical climate, where robust and diversified supply chains are paramount for defense readiness. The company is establishing significant production capacity, with its new 105,000-square-foot facility in the Dallas area set to commence serial production in the first quarter of 2027, targeting an annual output of up to 5,000 units.

Beyond its U.S. operations, Covenant maintains a global footprint with a 110,000-square-foot facility in Saxony, Germany, supported by a European supply network, and a 32,000-square-foot facility in northern Israel. This international presence underscores the company's ambition to serve a global clientele and adapt to diverse operational requirements. To date, Covenant has secured approximately $150 million in booked orders, encompassing qualification, R&D, and initial production contracts, with further awards anticipated before the close of the year.

The company's strategic partnerships extend to key U.S. government entities. Covenant is operating under an Other Transaction Agreement with the U.S. Army for accelerated testing and qualification of the Anthem system. Furthermore, a contract with the U.S. Navy’s Rapid Capabilities Office is underway to develop a Maritime Anthem variant, valued at approximately $70 million. This initiative includes modifications aimed at facilitating exports to U.S. allies, highlighting the system's versatility and strategic importance in strengthening international defense partnerships.

Michael Kaufman, Co-Founder and CEO of Covenant, articulated the strategic imperative behind Anthem: "Our adversaries possess thousands of hardened targets beyond the reach of current capabilities. Anthem was developed to credibly threaten those targets during prolonged conflict. Our deterrence is directly linked to our stockpiles."
