Coastal Medical Transportation Systems (CMTS) has significantly amplified its presence across New England by acquiring Alert Ambulance Service. This strategic move deepens CMTS's operational reach within Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island, solidifying its standing as a dominant force in regional medical transport. The integration follows CMTS's prior absorption of Fallon and Lifeline Ambulance Services, underscoring a consistent strategy of network expansion.

The acquisition is designed to enhance both emergency and non-emergency medical transport capabilities, aiming to bridge existing gaps in care delivery throughout the New England area. By incorporating Alert Ambulance's established service routes, CMTS anticipates a substantial increase in geographic coverage. This consolidation is also projected to yield greater operational efficiencies, bolstered by expanded backup resources and an increased capacity for patient transfers, which should translate to quicker response times and improved continuity of care, particularly for inter-facility transfers.

With this latest integration, the combined entity now commands a fleet exceeding 325 vehicles, encompassing a diverse range of ambulances and specialized transport units. This expansion also brings the total workforce to nearly 1,500 professionals. CMTS, established in 2013, operates 24/7 across New England, offering a spectrum of services including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), 911 emergency response, and wheelchair transportation. The company's commitment to integrating Alert Ambulance's operations includes bringing its employees into the CMTS fold, offering them access to the Coastal EMS Academy and its comprehensive training programs. Customers of Alert Ambulance are expected to experience seamless service continuity during the transition, as CMTS aims to preserve the localized service ethos while implementing its advanced, technology-driven logistics and clinical protocols.
