Baz Technologies, a startup founded by former Palo Alto Networks engineers, has successfully extended its seed funding round to a total of $17 million. The latest tranche, adding $9 million, was co-led by prominent venture capital firms Battery Ventures and Boldstart Ventures, with significant participation from new investors AFG Partners and Disruptive VC. This capital infusion fuels the company's mission to revolutionize AI-driven software development by embedding security and quality checks at the earliest stages of the coding process.

The company is simultaneously launching its flagship product, Baz Planner, a novel platform designed to intercept and scrutinize code development plans before they are committed. Unlike traditional code review tools that operate post-development, Baz Planner integrates directly into the AI coding workflow. It dynamically analyzes proposed code changes against architectural blueprints and product requirements, proactively identifying potential vulnerabilities and suggesting modifications to the development plan itself. This approach aims to address flaws when they are most economical to fix, significantly reducing costly rework later in the development lifecycle.
