About This Role

Whittier Trust Company is the oldest privately owned multi-family office headquartered on the West Coast, providing highly customized investment solutions and exceptional client service for high-net-worth individuals and their families. The firm offers investment management, fiduciary, philanthropic, and family office services, guided by a century-long history of entrepreneurship and a consulting approach tailored to complex family situations.

The Investment Associate (Investment Analyst) will support Portfolio Managers and other members of the Investment Department. Primary responsibilities include report preparation for clients, prospects, and the Investment Department; portfolio analysis including generating custom reports to monitor client accounts and ensuring portfolios reflect Whittier Trust's sector and security outlook; investment research covering markets and securities including equity, fixed income, and economic research; and trade input assisting with implementing portfolio changes across accounts.

The position requires advanced computer, analytical, and communication skills. Strong Excel skills with an emphasis on formula-driven workbooks and models are essential, along with strong PowerPoint skills for designing high-quality presentations. A competitive compensation package is offered including base salary, performance bonus, equity consideration, and excellent medical and retirement plans.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated team player who can contribute to a flat, nimble organization known for low turnover and high employee engagement. Two-plus years of experience in a related field is desired but this is considered an entry-level position.
