Vista Equity Partners, a leading private equity firm investing in software, data, and technology-enabled businesses, seeks a Vice President of Cybersecurity. This is a critical strategic opportunity for an accomplished cybersecurity professional to significantly influence the security posture and resilience of a diverse portfolio of companies. The role offers the chance to drive value creation and protection across a substantial investment portfolio, working directly with executive teams within our firm and our acquired companies.

Key responsibilities for the Vice President of Cybersecurity include:

Portfolio Company Engagement:* Develop and implement advanced cybersecurity strategies and frameworks tailored to the specific needs and risk profiles of portfolio companies. Conduct comprehensive security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and provide actionable recommendations for remediation and improvement. Advise portfolio company leadership on cybersecurity best practices, regulatory compliance, and incident response planning. Monitor and report on the security maturity and performance across the portfolio.

Investment Due Diligence:* Lead cybersecurity due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions, evaluating target companies' existing security infrastructures, policies, and operational capabilities. Assess risks, quantify potential exposures, and advise investment teams on cybersecurity considerations relevant to transaction structuring and post-acquisition integration.

Strategic Advisory:* Contribute to Vista's overarching cybersecurity strategy, staying current with evolving threat landscapes, industry standards, and emerging technologies. Develop and disseminate cybersecurity guidance and best practices across the firm and its portfolio. Foster a culture of security awareness and accountability among executive leadership.

Risk Management:* Establish and mature robust cybersecurity risk management processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Facilitate risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.

Candidates should possess significant experience in enterprise cybersecurity, ideally with exposure to private equity operations, M&A due diligence, or managing security across multiple distinct business units. A deep understanding of modern security architectures, cloud security, data privacy regulations, and incident management is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills to articulate complex security concepts to non-technical executives, and the ability to influence strategic decision-making.
