About This Role
Valentino Capital Group (VCG), a Miami-based private capital management and strategic advisory firm, is hiring its first investment-team analyst/associate to sit alongside the founder on an actively managed, nine-figure fund and its pipeline of co-founded vehicles. VCG partners with private equity sponsors, family offices, and founder-led businesses on operating execution, transaction readiness, capital structure strategy, and portfolio optimization, pairing senior-level advisory work with an active investment platform.
As the first hire on the investment team, the role spans the full lifecycle of the platform's work rather than a narrow lane. Responsibilities include investment evaluation (integrated three-statement models, LBO and growth structures, returns waterfalls, scenario analysis, investment memoranda and committee materials, and capital structure analysis across private equity and private credit opportunities); investor reporting and diligence (periodic investor reporting packages, DDQ responses, data room maintenance, and reconciliation of reported figures); portfolio company capital formation and financing (fundraising support, lender and credit materials, term sheet comparisons); advisory delivery (board decks and client presentations for sponsor, family office, and founder clients); portfolio monitoring and value creation (tracking performance against underwriting, operating partner support to early-stage growth companies); and platform building (diligence templates, model architecture, portfolio dashboards, and process design for future hires).
Candidates should have 3-7+ years of experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, transaction advisory, business development, or corporate development, with demonstrated ability to build integrated financial models from scratch, fluency in valuation and capital structure analysis, and strong written communication. A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering, or another quantitative field is required, along with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Preferred but not required: exposure to the health, wellness, and longevity sector, early/growth-stage experience, LP/investor reporting experience, debt financing exposure, and familiarity with CFA/CPA/CAIA credentials or research platforms like CapIQ, PitchBook, or Preqin.
The role is US-based and hybrid (no requirement to live in Miami), with 0-10 days of monthly travel. It can be structured as a W-2 employee or 1099 contractor. Compensation is $120,000-$180,000 base plus a discretionary bonus targeted at 30% of base; carried interest and co-investment opportunities may become available as the platform scales.
