Chief Compliance Officer, Private Equity Firm

A renowned private equity firm based in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an experienced Chief Private Equity Compliance Officer to lead their compliance programs and ensure adherence to regulatory standards across all private equity activities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement comprehensive compliance strategies that align with regulatory requirements and business objectives

- Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations including SEC, FINRA, and other applicable laws

- Identify and mitigate compliance risks within private equity operations with robust risk management practices

- Create and maintain compliance policies and procedures that meet industry standards and regulatory expectations

- Lead development and delivery of compliance training programs for all employees

- Oversee internal compliance audits and collaborate with external auditors to ensure thorough reviews

- Work closely with legal, finance, and operations teams to integrate compliance into all aspects of the firm private equity activities

Requirements:

- Proven experience in a senior compliance role within the private equity or financial services industry

- Deep understanding of SEC, FINRA, and other relevant regulatory frameworks

- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and guide cross-functional teams

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills focused on identifying risks and implementing effective compliance solutions

- Bachelor degree in law, finance, or related field required; advanced degrees or certifications such as JD or CFA highly desirable
