About This Role
The Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) is seeking a Private Equity Senior Analyst to join its PE Principal Investments division within the Investment Management Division (IMD). TRS manages a global portfolio of over $225 billion in public and private investments on behalf of 2 million public education employees and retirees throughout Texas.
Role Overview
The Senior Analyst will conduct due diligence and investment analysis for private equity co-investments and fund investments across multiple sectors and geographies. Reporting directly to a Private Equity Director, the role offers significant latitude for initiative and independent judgment within a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Due Diligence and Analysis:
- Perform due diligence and investment analysis to evaluate co-investments across multiple sectors and geographies, with a smaller portion of time evaluating fund investments
- Evaluate overall merits, risks, valuation, return profiles, and terms of Private Equity and Venture Capital transactions alongside investment partners
- Review detailed company information, conduct in-depth industry analysis, and complete reference checks
- Build complex financial (LBO) models and perform valuation analyses (comparable and DCF) to assess transaction attractiveness
- Communicate analysis of investment opportunities, results, and recommendations to stakeholders
- Support ongoing monitoring and reporting of the investment portfolio

Compensation and Benefits
TRS IMD offers a competitive compensation package consisting of base salary, annual performance incentive bonus, a defined-benefit pension plan, 401(k) and 457 retirement plans, and comprehensive benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience.
