Director, Capital Markets

Tallgrass, a private equity-backed energy infrastructure platform focused on the development, acquisition, financing, and operation of large-scale midstream and power assets across North America, is seeking a Capital Markets Director. The portfolio and growth pipeline include oil and gas pipelines, gas-fired power generation, CCUS infrastructure, and other energy transition infrastructure.

This role is designed for candidates with a private equity or investment banking background who are seeking greater ownership, autonomy, and direct exposure to real assets while maintaining institutional rigor and sponsor visibility. The Director reports directly to a Vice President and works closely with senior management, the company's private equity sponsors, lenders, and external advisors.

Key responsibilities include leading analytical workstreams for structuring and execution of construction and term financings for large-scale energy infrastructure projects (bank debt, private placements, structured equity, and sponsor capital); developing and evaluating optimal capital structures, debt sizing frameworks, covenant profiles, and return metrics; serving as the day-to-day finance lead on select transactions; and owning development and maintenance of complex, institutional-quality project finance models.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in project finance, capital formation, commercial structuring, and underwriting of major growth investments, with strong exposure to infrastructure finance transactions.
