About This Role
Skyview Equity, a private investment firm focused on lower middle-market acquisitions of corporate carve-outs, special situations, and underperforming assets, is hiring a Business Development Associate to expand its investment pipeline out of Los Angeles. The firm pairs disciplined investing with a hands-on operating approach to help portfolio companies unlock their next stage of growth.
Working directly with senior investment professionals, the Associate will help identify compelling companies, develop relationships with business owners and deal intermediaries, and move opportunities from initial outreach through evaluation and transaction execution. Core responsibilities include sourcing new investment opportunities through targeted outreach to business owners, corporate executives, investment bankers, brokers, and advisors; building and maintaining a network of intermediaries and executives who can generate proprietary, actionable deal flow; and researching industries, subsectors, and markets to develop investment themes and identify attractive acquisition targets.
The role also involves creating target lists, preparing outreach campaigns, tracking engagement and pipeline activity in the firm's CRM and deal-management systems, screening and evaluating opportunities using company, market, competitive, and financial information, and preparing materials for internal pipeline reviews, introductory meetings, conferences, and investment discussions. The Associate will coordinate with the investment team as opportunities progress through diligence, negotiation, and closing, and represent Skyview at industry conferences and meetings with business owners and advisors.
Skyview is looking for a bachelor's degree holder with demonstrated success in business development, deal sourcing, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, transaction advisory, or consulting, strong analytical fluency, and a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset suited to a high-visibility, full investment-lifecycle role at a lower middle-market PE firm.
