Investment Professional - Originations

Founded in 1988, Prospect Capital is an alternative asset management firm with $9.4B of assets under management, pursuing multiple strategies including direct lending, private equity, real estate private equity, and structured credit, with offices in New York City, Connecticut, and Florida. Prospect is seeking a highly motivated Investment Professional to join its Lower Middle Market Equity (LMME) initiative, focused primarily on deal origination and sourcing in the lower middle market ($3-15 million EBITDA). Responsibilities include sourcing, evaluating and qualifying new investment opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with investment banks, business brokers, private equity sponsors, advisors and company owners, and participating in and growing into leading the full investment process from idea generation through underwriting, negotiating, closing and exiting, including structuring and negotiating complex investments across the capital structure. Desired experience includes a demonstrated track record originating deal flow in the lower middle market, an established network across that ecosystem, relevant experience in private credit, direct lending, leveraged finance or private equity, solid understanding of credit fundamentals, and a strong academic record. The role pays a base salary of $100,000-$300,000 plus a discretionary performance bonus and comprehensive benefits.
