About This Role

PrivateEquityCXO is conducting a retained search on behalf of a private equity client seeking a Chief Commercial Officer to lead one of its portfolio companies, a distribution business in industrial parts. The sponsor is bullish about its investment thesis in this newly acquired platform and is prepared to invest heavily to drive scale using both inorganic and organic methods.

Compensation: A competitive salary, annual bonus, and wealth-building equity grant make for a compelling economic opportunity.

Company Profile: The portfolio company is an industrial parts distribution business in the Lower Middle Market. Revenue Range: Lower Middle Market. Hold Period: 2-3 Years. Deal Structure: Control buyout. The private equity firm has a solid history of scaling businesses with sector specialties including aerospace, industrials, agriculture, and transportation.

Investment Thesis: Transform the business and drive scale. Strengthen the company's go-to-market strategy and institute a commercial playbook defined by a data-driven, team-based approach. Integrate and coordinate the commercial activities of all add-on acquisitions and drive identified revenue synergies. Develop, improve and leverage best-in-class training to equip sales leaders with effective tools to track, report and forecast.

Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate is a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win. Background requirements include: Distribution industry experience in a commercial leadership role. Functional: Top Commercial leader of a lower middle market company/division OR number two commercial leader within a larger enterprise. Well-rounded business experience across sales, strategy, and Business Development. Solid integration experience preferred. 15-25+ years of progressive career success. Private equity experience is not required but is advantageous.
