Managing Director, Defined Contribution Real Estate Solutions

Principal Real Estate, the real estate investment management arm of Principal Financial Group, is seeking a Managing Director to join its Capital Raising team. The role will lead sales efforts for defined contribution private equity real estate solutions, including established offerings and new product development initiatives across private markets.

Key responsibilities include developing deep and strategic relationships with Limited Partners and leading investment sales efforts for defined contribution private equity real estate solutions, partnering closely with internal sales, retirement, and real estate teams to drive distribution strategy and client targeting, managing and deepening relationships with existing DC clients and providing ongoing updates on capital deployment and portfolio activity, contributing to product development initiatives across private markets including private real estate, credit, and model portfolio solutions, and serving as an internal subject matter expert on DC private assets.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in capital raising for institutional real estate or alternative investments, a strong network among defined contribution plan sponsors and consultants, and a track record of growing assets under management in the private markets space. The role involves representing Principal externally through industry associations, conferences, and research contributions.
