This is a critical opportunity for an experienced venture capital professional to drive strategic investments that align with Pfizer’s mission and generate financial returns. Our mandate includes both financial return and strategic alignment, offering portfolio companies access to Pfizer’s extensive scientific expertise and global reach.

Key Responsibilities:

The Partner will be responsible for the full investment lifecycle within the biotech domain, including:

Deal Sourcing and Identification:* Proactively identify, evaluate, and cultivate a robust pipeline of investment opportunities in biotech startups across various therapeutic areas and technology platforms. This involves engaging with entrepreneurs, academic institutions, incubators, and co-investors.

Investment Evaluation and Due Diligence:* Conduct rigorous scientific, technical, clinical, commercial, and financial due diligence on prospective investments. This includes assessing scientific validity, market potential, competitive landscape, intellectual property, regulatory pathways, and management team capabilities. Collaborate closely with Pfizer’s internal R&D, business development, and legal teams to utilize internal expertise.

Transaction Execution:* Lead the structuring, negotiation, and closing of new investments. Prepare detailed investment memos and present recommendations to the Pfizer Ventures Investment Committee.

Portfolio Management:* Actively manage and support a portfolio of biotech companies post-investment. Provide strategic guidance, mentorship to founders, and facilitate potential partnerships or collaborations with Pfizer where appropriate. Monitor portfolio company performance, identify risks, and help drive value creation.

Exit Strategy Development:* Develop and execute strategies for successful exits from portfolio investments, optimizing financial returns.

Market Representation:* Build and maintain a prominent network within the global biotech venture capital and entrepreneurial ecosystem, enhancing Pfizer Ventures' reputation as a partner of choice.

This position is based in New York, United States.

Compensation:

The compensation package includes a base salary ranging from $254,100 to $403,400, plus a target annual bonus of 25%, and Long-Term Incentives (LTI).
