About This Role

Oaktree Capital Management, a leading global investment manager specializing in alternative investments with more than $224 billion in assets under management, is hiring a Vice President for its European High Yield Bond and Leveraged Loan Group in London. The firm takes an opportunistic, value-oriented, and risk-controlled approach to investments across credit, equity, and real estate, and operates from more than 25 cities worldwide with over 1,500 employees.

The Vice President will participate in all transaction functions and portfolio investment activities within the group. Core responsibilities include providing detailed bottom-up financial modeling, analysis, forecasts, and valuations; working with senior analysts to generate fundamental and relative value investment recommendations for portfolio managers; maintaining and updating written research on existing investments and producing industry reviews; providing input on portfolio positioning; developing and maintaining business and industry due diligence; and monitoring the performance of existing portfolio investments.

Oaktree is looking for candidates with 3-4 years of experience within leveraged finance markets, or a Qualified Chartered Accountant with 4-5 years of experience at one of the "Big Four" accountancy firms, ideally with transaction services or corporate finance exposure. Outstanding financial modeling and analytical skills are required, along with demonstrated competency in financial statement analysis, business valuation, accounting, and finance, and a solid understanding of the High Yield Bond and Leveraged Loan markets.

The successful candidate will bring strong initiative and work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a team-oriented approach with strong integrity and professionalism. A bachelor's degree with a 2:1 classification or higher from a reputable university is expected.

This role offers direct exposure to Oaktree's European credit platform, working alongside senior investment professionals on transaction execution and ongoing portfolio monitoring across the leveraged finance and CLO space.
