About This Role

Nuveen, the asset management arm of TIAA, is hiring a Clean Energy Infrastructure Investment Associate for its London office. The role sits within Nuveen's infrastructure and natural capital investment team, which manages public and private assets on behalf of TIAA, one of the world's largest institutional investors.

The position is primarily focused on transaction execution across renewable energy generation projects, assets, and platforms, with additional exposure to origination, negotiation, deal closing, and post-transaction asset management support across the EU-27 and the UK.

Key responsibilities include building and operating financial models for renewable energy investments, optimizing project contractual structures, analyzing project SPV financial statements, and producing cash-flow-based valuation models with sensitivity analysis to support investment cases. The Associate will help draft investment proposals and investment committee presentations under the guidance of Managers and Directors, and will support training junior Analysts and Associates on financial modelling and valuation.

On the transaction side, the Associate will support deal leads on origination activity with renewable project developers, assist in executing acquisitions, project financing, and divestments, and help run due-diligence workstreams while coordinating external advisors such as EPC contractors, lawyers, technical advisors, and financing providers. The role also involves identifying a pipeline of potential transactions from a growing network of industry contacts, monitoring renewable energy and clean-tech market activity, and tracking regulatory developments including EU targets and tariff frameworks. Fund-level responsibilities may include preparing fundraising marketing materials and compiling vendor due-diligence (VDD) materials for prospective LPs.

Candidates need a minimum of four years of relevant experience with a demonstrable equity investment track record, gained at an investment management firm, investment bank, M&A advisory house, energy company, utility, IPP, or consultancy. Corporate finance or project finance transaction experience and significant financial modelling expertise are required, along with relevant knowledge of the power and energy industry. Fluent English is required, with additional European languages preferred. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK; no regulatory designation is required for the role.

Nuveen describes itself as a global investment leader managing public and private assets across businesses, real estate, infrastructure, and natural capital on behalf of clients and TIAA.
