VC Principal at Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures — the CVC arm of Northwestern Mutual (Fortune 100), focused on fintech and AI startups.

Role Overview

Responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing early-stage startup investments that align with Northwestern Mutual strategic focus. Managing the full investment lifecycle and building founder relationships. Based in San Francisco or Milwaukee with regular travel.

Key Responsibilities

- Proactively identify and engage with promising startups, entrepreneurs, and co-investors to generate deal pipeline

- Lead comprehensive market, product, technology, and financial due diligence

- Build financial models and present investment recommendations to the investment committee

- Foster long-term relationships with portfolio founders and co-investors

Requirements

- Proven track record in venture capital investment and deal execution

- Strong network within fintech and AI startup ecosystems

- Experience leading due diligence and building financial models

- Ability to operate within a corporate environment while maintaining VC investment discipline
