Associate, Private Credit - Portfolio Management & Manager Research

Role Overview

Nomura Capital Management is hiring an Associate for its Private Credit — Portfolio Management & Manager Research team in New York, NY. The role sits within a fast-growing institutional investment platform focused on private credit manager selection, portfolio construction and risk management. Base pay is expected to range from $150,000 to $200,000/year.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and evaluate prospective investment opportunities and conduct due diligence, including due diligence visits and calls with portfolio managers and research analysts

- Maintain an internal database of prospective investment opportunities

- Write manager meeting notes, due diligence reports and investment recommendation memos, including peer group analysis and manager review commentaries

- Track and report manager performance, build relationships with underlying managers, and coordinate cash drawdown and funding calendars

- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of the opportunity set and key risks across private market and alternative strategies

- Develop a quantitative risk framework, build financial models, and perform technical analysis

- Monitor fund developments via GP relationships and track fund/portfolio exposures and performance attribution

- Oversee fund capital calls and distributions

Qualifications

- 2-4 years of experience in private credit manager selection and research

- Strong quantitative, data management and research skills

- Prior experience on an institutional platform with similar portfolios and manager research is preferred
