This role is pivotal in communicating the firm's robust strategy, consistent performance, and distinctive insights to a sophisticated audience of investors, consultants, and industry influencers. The External Communications Vice President will play a central role in safeguarding and enhancing the firm's reputation and brand equity within the global investment community.

The External Communications Vice President will be based in New York, United States. This role reports directly to senior leadership within the firm's marketing and communications structure, with a dedicated and significant focus on the Private Equity business. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive external communications strategies specifically tailored for Neuberger Berman's Private Equity platform, ensuring seamless alignment with overall firm objectives and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Strategic Media Relations:* Cultivate and maintain strong, proactive relationships with key financial, business, and industry journalists. This includes drafting and distributing impactful press releases, preparing senior spokespersons for high-profile interviews, and managing all media inquiries with precision and promptness.

Messaging Development & Articulation:* Craft compelling, accurate, and nuanced messaging that articulates the firm's Private Equity investment philosophy, specific deal activity, fund performance, and proprietary market perspectives. This content will target sophisticated investors, consultants, and the broader financial community across various communication channels.

Thought Leadership & Content Amplification:* Drive the development and strategic dissemination of thought leadership content, ensuring consistent external positioning of Neuberger Berman's Private Equity expertise across digital, print, and event platforms.

Executive Communications Counsel:* Provide expert communications counsel and support to senior Private Equity investment professionals. Advise on external engagement opportunities, presentation strategies, and potential reputational considerations to ensure effective and consistent external representation.

Reputation Management & Crisis Preparedness:* Lead crisis communications planning and rapid response for Private Equity-related matters, diligently protecting and preserving the firm's brand and reputation in potentially sensitive situations.

Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis:* Monitor evolving industry trends, competitive communications strategies, and market sentiment within the private equity sector. Provide actionable insights to inform and refine Neuberger Berman's strategic communications approach.

Internal Stakeholder Collaboration:* Collaborate closely with a range of internal teams, including investment professionals, legal, compliance, and marketing, to ensure all external communications are factually accurate, legally compliant, and strategically aligned with firm-wide objectives.
