Role Overview and Key Responsibilities

The Chief Operating Officer, Private Debt will hold comprehensive responsibility for the operational strategy and execution supporting Neuberger Berman’s private debt investment teams and funds. This C-suite executive will ensure the platform operates with optimal efficiency, control, and scalability, directly contributing to investment performance and investor satisfaction.

Core responsibilities include:

Operational Strategy & Management:* Develop and implement the operational framework for the Private Debt business, overseeing all non-investment functions from deal origination support through fund lifecycle management.

Infrastructure & Technology:* Drive the strategic development and enhancement of operational systems, technology platforms, and data management capabilities to support complex private debt transactions and reporting requirements.

Risk Management & Compliance:* Establish and maintain robust operational controls and processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, internal policies, and best practices across all Private Debt activities.

Stakeholder Collaboration:* Serve as a critical link between investment teams, finance, legal, compliance, investor relations, and external service providers, ensuring seamless coordination and execution.

Fund Operations & Reporting:* Oversee fund administration, valuation processes, treasury management, and investor reporting, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timely delivery.

Growth & Scalability:* Partner with business leaders to build scalable operational processes and infrastructure that support the continued growth and expansion of the Private Debt platform.

Location and Compensation

This position is located in New York, United States. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience, reflecting the strategic importance of this C-suite role within Neuberger Berman.
