Investment Analyst/Associate, MSIM Next Level Fund

Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM), with over $1.7 trillion in AUM across 21 countries, is seeking an Investment Analyst or Associate for the Next Level Fund. The Next Level Fund is a venture capital fund within MSIM Private Credit and Equity (PC&E), a team of 300+ professionals managing approximately $55 billion of client capital in direct private equity and credit investments.

The Next Level Fund seeks to generate long-term capital appreciation through privately negotiated venture capital investments in primarily early-stage companies where there has been historical underinvestment. The Fund invests in early-stage technology and technology-enabled companies in technology, consumer/retail, financial technology, healthcare, and media/entertainment industries, primarily in the United States and Canada, with annual recurring revenue of at least $1 million and a valuation of at least $10 million.

The Analyst/Associate will be an integral member of the Investment Team, working with senior staff to make and manage a portfolio of investments. Responsibilities include conducting diligence on investment opportunities including selection, evaluation, due diligence, negotiation, closing, and ongoing corporate governance; constructing company financial forecasts and detailed valuation analyses; preparing Investment Committee presentations; managing industry and sector analysis; executing deal-related tasks such as tracking prospective deals and negotiating confidentiality agreements; building and maintaining relationships with portfolio company founders; collaborating with other Morgan Stanley groups; establishing and monitoring KPIs; and developing relationships with venture capital firms, angel groups, accelerators, and corporate partners.
