About This Role
MFM Search LLC is recruiting on behalf of a leading global pension fund managing approximately $3 trillion in assets, currently expanding its New York presence. This full-time role sits within the private equity portfolio monitoring team, which is responsible for the fund's data management and data governance across its PE investment program.
The Senior Associate, Investment Data will implement solutions for collecting, interpreting, and presenting key financial and operational data for the private equity investment department. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate and timely data delivery, operationalizing data governance policies, and producing quarterly portfolio-level reporting such as performance attribution, transaction activity analysis, and portfolio construction views broken down by geography, sector, assets, and GP relationship.
Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining high standards for data accuracy, supporting data platform operations including BAU issue triage and ETL processes, resolving data exceptions promptly, and owning the format and content of routine reporting across internal and external platforms including the i-Level portfolio system. The role also involves collaborating with business analysts and product owners to ensure completeness of data models, supporting metadata management within the enterprise data catalogue, and bridging technical and business perspectives by translating complex investment data into decision-focused insights for senior stakeholders.
Candidates must hold a BSc in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Finance, or a quantitative discipline, with 4 to 6 years of experience as a data analyst within an asset owner or investment management organization. Proficiency in Python, APIs, SQL, and data visualization tools is required, along with ETL expertise and a strong understanding of investment data management and financial data providers.
