About This Role

MetLife Investment Management (MIM), the institutional asset management arm of MetLife, is hiring a Senior Director to lead infrastructure debt origination across the Americas and Asia-Pacific regions. The role is based in New York, NY (with a Whippany, NJ option) and requires a hybrid working arrangement of minimum three days per week on-site.

MIM manages a global infrastructure debt portfolio spanning power & energy, transportation, telecommunications, renewables, and digital infrastructure. This is a senior investment role with direct influence over deal strategy and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

- Source and structure investment-grade and high-yield infrastructure debt transactions across the Americas and APAC

- Serve as senior decision-maker on deal recommendations to the investment committee

- Lead underwriting, credit analysis, and negotiation for complex infrastructure finance transactions

- Oversee portfolio of infrastructure debt investments including ongoing credit monitoring and risk management

- Lead and mentor a team of investment professionals within the infrastructure debt group

- Maintain and develop relationships with infrastructure sponsors, project developers, and advisors across target geographies

- Support client-facing activities and represent MIM in industry forums

Requirements

- 15+ years of experience in infrastructure and/or project finance credit origination and structuring

- Deep expertise in the power and energy sector; broader infrastructure experience strongly preferred

- Proven track record of sourcing and executing deals across the Americas and ideally APAC

- Strong credit analysis and financial modelling capabilities

- Bachelor's degree required; MBA and/or CFA strongly preferred

- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

- Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time

Compensation

- Base salary: $187,000–$204,000 per annum

- Eligible for short-term incentive and stock-based long-term compensation
