Principal

Lightscape Partners, an early-stage VC firm founded in 2023, is seeking a Principal to join its investment team in New York. The firm focuses on pre-seed through Series C investments across AI, robotics, compute infrastructure, data, and applied AI, with a portfolio of over 30 companies.

The Principal will source and evaluate investment opportunities across AI, robotics, and deep tech sectors. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining a high-quality founder pipeline with unique investment theses, representing Lightscape at conferences, demo days, and industry events, and leading or supporting due diligence on market dynamics, product, and team quality. The Principal provides independent investment recommendations to the partnership and supports portfolio companies with hiring, fundraising strategy, and broader company-building challenges.

Ideal candidates bring 2-6 years of venture capital or growth equity experience, with a strong interest in AI and technical depth or intellectual curiosity in the space. A demonstrated track record of deal sourcing and access to high-quality early-stage opportunities is essential. The role rewards strong judgment in evaluating teams, products, and market opportunities quickly, combined with a proactive mindset and the interpersonal skills to build trust with founders at the earliest stages of their journey.
