About This Role
KKR's Insurance Investments team is hiring a senior Structured Credit professional to sit within its Structured Products & Asset-Based Finance (ABF) group, supporting Global Atlantic Financial Group's balance sheet. The team of 45 professionals draws on KKR's global platform across Private Equity, Global Macro & Asset Allocation, Real Assets, and Credit & Markets to originate insurance-suited assets.
The role covers the full structured and asset-backed credit investment process: evaluating and executing transactions across residential real estate, consumer finance, small business, transportation, equipment, renewable energy, infrastructure, commercial real estate, and CLOs, expressed through securities, whole loans, direct lending, and platform investments. Responsibilities include tracking RMBS/CMBS/ABS/CLO markets and spreads, generating cross-sector relative-value views, translating those views into asset allocation and portfolio construction recommendations, designing portfolio rotation trades, and managing existing positions. The hire will also serve as the primary interface between the insurance business, KKR portfolio managers, and KKR structured credit traders, driving execution of Global Atlantic's investment strategy and engaging the dealer community on market flows and positioning.
Candidates should bring roughly 6-10 years of experience in structured products investing (trading, portfolio management, or investment/asset management), deep knowledge of structured credit asset classes with a preference for residential and commercial real estate backgrounds, and demonstrated ability to form independent relative-value views across sectors. Strong sell-side and peer relationships, Bloomberg/Intex/TREPP proficiency, and familiarity with insurance-specific investment and accounting considerations (NAIC capital charges, RBC, ALM, duration management) are valued. The position reports directly to the Portfolio Manager and sits at the center of KKR's insurance balance sheet strategy, a rare opportunity to help run one of the largest active insurance portfolios in structured credit.
Base salary range: $175,000-$230,000, plus discretionary bonus eligibility based on individual and team performance.
