About This Role

JPMorgan Asset Management's Global Special Situations (GSS) group, within the Alternatives Division, manages approximately $4 billion in capital and focuses on both public and private opportunistic credit situations. The team invests across the credit spectrum in performing, stressed, distressed, and event-driven situations, operating from offices in New York and London.

The group is seeking a New York-based Associate level analyst to join its situational research team, reporting to the Head of Research. This is an investment-oriented role requiring direct buy-side or sell-side credit experience and the intellectual curiosity to source and analyze complex credit opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Construct and maintain financial models to support investment decision-making and ongoing portfolio management

- Review credit agreements and other governing documents to support fully informed investment decisions

- Develop and maintain a network to source new investment opportunities

- Support business development, marketing, and control initiatives as directed by the GSS Co-CIOs

- Collaborate with team members in New York and London including CIOs, analysts, and COO/middle office

- Ensure all activities comply with JPMAM/GSS policies and applicable legal and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications:

- 3+ years of credit experience or relevant background

- Valuation and credit analysis experience including ability to analyze performing, stressed, distressed, and event-driven companies

- Direct investing experience on the buy-side or bank sell-side

- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills

- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to source investment opportunities

- Self-starter comfortable operating within a large team environment
