About This Role
HarbourVest Partners is hiring a Vice President, Portfolio Manager for its Credit Evergreen strategy, part of the firm's Evergreen Solutions team, which is building HarbourVest into a leading multi-manager provider of open-ended, evergreen private markets solutions for wealth and institutional investors. The Credit Evergreen strategy currently spans two open-ended funds (one for US investors, one for non-US investors), and the hire will join a small, dedicated Credit Evergreen team reporting to a Boston-based Managing Director, working alongside a London-based Principal.
Core responsibilities include executing the credit investment strategy and supporting allocation across credit opportunities; managing investment monitoring and liquidity for both Credit Evergreen funds; supporting portfolio construction with diversified target parameters, sizing, and risk budgeting; and presenting recommendations to HarbourVest's Evergreen Portfolio Management Committee (EPMC), the senior body responsible for all evergreen-fund decisions. The role also covers liquidity and risk management (subscriptions, redemptions, credit facility usage, hedging, stress testing) and credit pricing/valuation analysis including secondary markets. On the client side, the VP supports fundraising meetings with Wealth and IR colleagues, SMA clients, and distribution partners, and works with Legal, Regulatory and Compliance on US/European board and regulatory reporting. Over time the individual may lead marketing presentations such as roadshows and conference sessions.
HarbourVest is looking for at least 6 years of private credit investing experience with a track record designing and implementing portfolio construction across sub-asset classes with varying risk/return profiles, knowledge of evergreen fund structures and redemption mechanics, and strong cross-medium communication skills; total relevant experience of 8-10 years is expected, with a bachelor's degree required and an MBA preferred.
Base salary range: $175,000-$200,000, plus discretionary annual bonus and HarbourVest's broader total-rewards package (retirement, health, insurance, PTO, wellness).
