Non-Executive Director - Private Credit Origination

Hamilton Bradshaw Group, the private investment office of James Caan with over 20 years of experience backing service-led businesses across the UK, is seeking a Non-Executive Director to lead private credit origination. The firm is expanding its platform — historically focused on private equity-style value creation — into direct lending, and this role is central to building that new vertical.

The position is a part-time engagement (approximately 2 days per month), making it well-suited to senior practitioners who have deep origination networks and wish to deploy them in a principal-led context without a full-time commitment.

The Non-Executive Director will work directly with Hamilton Bradshaw's investment team to identify, originate, and shape bespoke private credit opportunities. The firm targets non-real-estate credits and structures transactions combining senior debt, mezzanine, and equity components, reflecting a flexible approach to capital deployment.

Key responsibilities include: sourcing and originating non-real estate private credit transactions; structuring tailored financing solutions across the capital stack; collaborating with the investment team on execution and deal management; and helping scale this strategy into a systematic, repeatable platform.

The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in private credit or direct lending, a strong origination network in the UK or European market, and the ability to operate independently in an entrepreneurial, deal-led environment. Experience structuring bespoke credit facilities for mid-market companies is essential.
