About the team

GIC Private Equity's Special Opportunities Group has a global mandate focused on (1) defensive, uncorrelated investments and (2) dislocation-triggered opportunities -- spanning stressed/distressed debt, real assets, royalties, insurance, structured credit, and opportunistic special situations.

Key responsibilities

- Participate in all aspects of underwriting for direct investments and co-investments: evaluating risk/return drivers, market dynamics, historical and projected financial performance, management teams, capital structures and deal terms

- Participate in underwriting for fund investments: evaluating fund manager strategy, track record, execution capabilities, culture and alignment; meeting senior management at top investment firms

- Research and develop new investment themes and strategy

- Monitor the macro environment and portfolio performance

Qualifications

- 2-4 years of experience at an investment bank, buy-side firm, or consulting firm

- Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in financial modelling

- Responsible, proactive and intellectually curious

- Prior experience or interest in the investment mandate is a plus
