Role Overview
General Atlantic is a leading global investor managing approximately $126 billion in assets under management across Growth Equity, Infrastructure, and Strategic Solutions, with more than 900 professionals in 20 countries. The firm is hiring an Associate to join its Growth Acceleration team in New York — described internally as GA's "in-house management consulting group" — which is involved across the full investment cycle, from diligence through portfolio value creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive execution across high-priority diligence and portfolio value-creation projects spanning go-to-market, pricing, operational efficiency, and AI/data science
- Conduct primary research (expert calls, consumer and decision-maker surveys) to understand market trends and competitive dynamics
- Own workstream design and day-to-day execution, including work planning, quality control, and coordinating analysts
- Review market research reports and data to evaluate market landscape and competitive positioning; build market models and TAM/SAM sizing
- Synthesize findings across workstreams into proprietary market perspective materials and executive-level presentations
- Collaborate with in-house subject matter experts on go-to-market, operational efficiency, pricing, and AI/data science initiatives alongside portfolio company leaders
- Serve as a primary point of contact for GA investment teams and portfolio company leadership on assigned workstreams
- Mentor and develop analysts, providing coaching and feedback
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 2-5 years of relevant experience at a top-tier management consulting firm
- Highly analytical with strong project management skills — time management, pattern recognition, prioritization, and sound judgment
- Experience owning final deliverables on client-facing projects
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-performing, global organization
Compensation & Location
Based in New York. Base salary of $125,000-$160,000, plus competitive compensation, comprehensive health/dental/vision insurance, a retirement savings plan with employer matching, and professional development opportunities.
