Falcon Partners is a private equity firm focused on partnering with founders and management teams in the lower middle market to build enduring businesses through strategic growth initiatives and operational improvements. The Operating Partner - Finance will be a core member of the investment team, working closely with deal professionals and portfolio company leadership to optimize financial strategies and operations.
This Partner-level role demands a seasoned finance leader capable of identifying and implementing financial best practices, enhancing reporting capabilities, and fostering robust financial governance within portfolio companies. The successful candidate will directly contribute to the firm's investment thesis validation and portfolio company growth throughout the investment lifecycle, from initial due diligence through exit.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Investment Support:* Provide comprehensive financial due diligence support, assess the quality and reliability of financial reporting, identify operational finance improvement opportunities, and contribute to investment thesis development.
Portfolio Value Creation:* Collaborate with portfolio company CFOs and management teams to establish robust financial controls, enhance budgeting and forecasting processes, improve working capital management, and develop key performance indicators. Guide financial aspects of add-on acquisitions and their integration.
Strategic Financial Guidance:* Advise on capital structure optimization, M&A strategy from a financial perspective, and prepare companies for successful exits by ensuring financial readiness and presenting value effectively.
Talent Development:* Mentor and support finance leadership within portfolio companies, assisting with recruitment and team development as needed to build strong internal capabilities.
Firm Contribution:* Act as a conduit for financial best practices across the entire Falcon Partners portfolio, contributing to the firm's knowledge base and overall investment strategy.
Candidates will possess extensive experience as a CFO or senior finance leader, ideally with prior exposure to private equity-backed companies or significant M&A integration experience. A proven track record of driving financial performance improvement and scaling businesses is essential. The role requires a hands-on approach, strong analytical capabilities, and excellent communication skills to influence across various stakeholders.
This is a Remote position, open to candidates located anywhere in the United States. Compensation includes a competitive salary, performance-based bonus, and fund carry, reflecting the seniority and impact of this Partner-level role.
