About This Role
The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation is one of the largest private foundations in the United States with an asset base of approximately $3 billion, based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Foundation invests to support entrepreneurship, education, and community development, and its Investment Team manages the endowment to ensure capital is available for grants and operations. The team allocates capital across a wide range of asset categories and manages a roster of external investment firms implementing specific strategies. The Investment Managing Director, reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, plays a key leadership role with a focus on the equity allocation of the portfolio, including both public and private equities, with cross-asset class collaboration. Key responsibilities include developing asset allocation strategies, selecting and monitoring external investment accounts and partnerships, and collaborating across departments with finance staff and other Foundation associates. The ideal candidate will have extensive investment experience across public and private markets, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience working with institutional-quality investment managers.
