Senior Associate - Deep Tech

Role Overview

Entrepreneurs First (EF), a venture firm that identifies and backs exceptional individuals before they start companies ("talent investing"), is hiring a Senior Associate in London for a 2027 cohort targeting founders working on frontier/deep tech. EF's portfolio includes Tractable (computer vision unicorn), Magic Pony Technology (acquired by Twitter for $150m), and Gensyn. The Senior Associate identifies outlier individuals and helps them build companies, deploying millions of dollars annually into founders and teams; Senior Associates are expected to be promoted to Principal within 18-24 months.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute theses on where to find exceptionally talented individuals early in their careers

- Become a trusted advisor to prospective founders, from career advice to fundraising support

- Build relationships with experts across a broad range of technical fields

- Serve as a key influencer in deciding which founders and companies EF invests in

Qualifications

- 4-8 years' experience post-university, likely as a founder, investor, or startup operator in deep tech

- Deep expertise in one or more frontier technologies, developed formally or informally

- Intellectually curious, driven, strong network builder, and a discerning judge of talent
