Private Equity Principal - Lower Middle Market B2B Services
This presents a significant opportunity for an accomplished Private Equity professional to join a confidential firm as a Principal, focusing on the lower middle market B2B Services sector. The role is critical in driving investment strategy, leading deal execution, and actively contributing to value creation across a focused and growing portfolio. This position offers substantial impact within a dedicated investment team, working with high-potential companies poised for growth.
The firm is a Private Equity investor with a clear and established strategy in the lower middle market, specifically targeting B2B services companies. It seeks to partner with entrepreneurial management teams to build and scale businesses through strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and organic and inorganic growth strategies. The firm maintains a disciplined investment approach, focusing on sectors with strong fundamentals and identifiable paths to value creation.
Key Responsibilities:
Deal Sourcing and Origination:* Lead the proactive identification, evaluation, and origination of new investment opportunities specifically within the lower middle market B2B Services sector. This involves cultivating and maintaining an extensive network of relationships with investment bankers, business brokers, industry executives, and other deal intermediaries. Conduct initial screening and analysis of potential targets, assessing strategic fit and preliminary financial viability.
Due Diligence Leadership:* Direct and manage all aspects of comprehensive investment due diligence. This includes overseeing financial modeling, conducting thorough commercial and operational assessments, coordinating legal and tax reviews, and evaluating management teams. Synthesize findings into clear investment memorandums and present recommendations to the Investment Committee, articulating key risks and opportunities.
Transaction Execution:* Structure and negotiate investment terms, lead the preparation of definitive transaction documentation, and manage the closing process for new acquisitions. Work closely with legal counsel, lenders, and other advisors to ensure efficient and effective deal execution.
Portfolio Management:* Actively partner with the management teams of portfolio companies post-acquisition. Drive value creation initiatives, which may include strategic planning, operational enhancements, market expansion, and identifying and executing add-on acquisitions. Monitor financial performance, track key performance indicators, and provide strategic guidance to optimize growth and profitability, working towards defined investment objectives.
Exit Strategy:* Contribute to the development and execution of exit strategies for portfolio companies, working to maximize returns for investors through various liquidity events.
Team Leadership:* Mentor and guide junior investment professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment within the investment team.
