Blackstone Credit and Insurance - Private Credit Strategies - Senior Associate

Role Overview

Blackstone Credit & Insurance (BXCI), the credit investing arm of Blackstone (the world's largest alternative asset manager with over $1.3 trillion in AUM), is hiring a Senior Associate for its Private Credit Strategies team. BXCI invests across private investment grade credit, asset-based lending, direct lending, and opportunistic credit, and also provides investment management services to insurers.

Key Responsibilities

- Draft investment memos covering potential take-private deals, including investment merits/risks and financial modeling.

- Build historical financial models for target companies using annual/quarterly filings.

- Draft business quality assessments analyzing operational risk.

- Focus on investing in technology companies, drawing on operational understanding of tech products and business models.

- Adjust EBITDA and build lender models grounded in fundamental accounting principles.

- Structure deals using debt, preferred equity, equity co-investment, or warrants.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Management Science, or related field (Master's + 2 years accepted in lieu).

- 5+ years of relevant experience.

- 2+ years building/auditing software credit models in Excel (integrated financials, ARR roll-builds, cash flow forecasting, debt schedules, sensitivity analysis).

- 2+ years preparing investment committee materials and deal updates in PowerPoint.

- 2+ years conducting end-to-end diligence for software investments, including expert calls and data room analysis.

Compensation & Location

Base salary range: $183,000 - $215,000, plus health benefits, 401(k), and discretionary bonuses; equity/incentive compensation possible. Based in New York, NY. Full-time, Mid-Senior level.
