Principal, Digital Infrastructure Private Equity - AIP

Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a part of BlackRock, is seeking a Principal to join its Digital Infrastructure Private Equity investment team. With over $189 billion in assets under management, GIP is a leading infrastructure investor specializing in energy, transport, digital infrastructure, and water and waste management sectors.

The Principal will play a leading role in sourcing, evaluating, structuring, negotiating, financing, executing, and monitoring investments across data centers and other digital infrastructure subsectors, on behalf of both GIP's Flagship Fund and the Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Partnership (AIP) fund.

Key Responsibilities: The role requires leading end-to-end transaction execution including underwriting, financial modeling, structuring, due diligence, legal documentation, negotiation, and closing. The Principal will source and identify digital infrastructure investment opportunities including platform investments, joint ventures, add-on acquisitions, and related financings. Responsibilities also include driving investment committee materials, presenting investment recommendations, monitoring and supporting portfolio companies on strategy, budgeting, capital allocation, and exit planning, as well as leading and mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications: Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in private equity investing and/or investment banking, with a strong preference for prior private equity experience. Deep sector expertise in digital infrastructure — including data centers — is required, along with a proven track record of originating, leading, and executing complex transactions. Superior financial modeling, valuation, and risk assessment skills are essential, as is the ability to lead deal teams and manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
