Role overview

Bey Group International, a Chicago-based private equity firm that acquires and builds lower middle-market companies across manufacturing, consumer products, food & beverage, and retail, is hiring a second General Partner to sit alongside its founding partner with full authority over capital formation, investment decisions, and firm strategy.

Key responsibilities

- Lead fundraising and capital formation, building and closing the firm's LP base

- Activate a personal network of angels, family offices, strategic investors, founders, and operators into proprietary deal flow and capital access

- Source, evaluate, and manage investments across the firm's core sectors

- Advise portfolio companies on growth, operations, capital strategy, and expansion

- Represent the firm publicly to founders, investors, brokers, and acquirers

Qualifications/requirements

- 10+ years in private equity, venture capital, or investment banking at principal level or above

- A defensible track record investing in, advising, or scaling lower middle-market companies

- Demonstrated experience raising capital directly from LPs

- Sector command across manufacturing, consumer products, food & beverage, and retail

- An activatable network of angels, family offices, strategic investors, founders, and operators

- Preferred: experience inside a lean/early-stage fund, board or observer experience with consumer or manufacturing businesses, and a track record backing early-stage consumer brands

Compensation/location details

Based in Chicago, IL. This is a partner-level appointment with equity participation and long-term economics in the firm; consistent with standard General Partner terms, it carries a personal capital commitment alongside the firm. Specific structure and economics are discussed directly with qualified candidates. Full-time.
